Tour itinerary
As we leave Hanoi at 8A.M. On this Vietnam motorcycle tour we intentionally avoid the A1 and ride the winding back roads that are not traffic-packed. As the kilometers melt down our wheels, we gradually get to see the real beauty of Vietnam. In about 7km, we stop for a quick visit to the village of Sam Xuyen, where you can taste some tea offered by the friendly locals, as you admire the rich, rice paddies, and the astonishing 500-year old bonsai tree that stands proudly.
Then, we head south and just before reaching our next destination, Hoa Lu, we stop at a local restaurant, to taste some local cuisine for lunch, before we get back to riding the back roads. At some point, we meet the A1 and ride it for about 5km. On the way, we visit the ancient Hoa Lu remains (the temples dedicated to infamous 10th-century King Le and King Dinh, who chose Hoa Lu to build their capital’s fortress)
For the nest 25 km until we reach Tam Coc, we will be riding past steep limestone mountainous areas, narrow valleys, and igneous rock formations that compose a picture-like scenery. Then, we get some rest as local boatmen take us along the Hoang Long River that runs several kilometers in Tam Coc.
We stay overnight at a local hotel.
The ride towards the Thanh Son Pass and the Po Luong Nature Reserve, whose beauty is rarely seen on Earth, is literally mind-blowing. Blessed with a natural surrounding full of green trees and forests, limestone rocky mountains, and fertile rice fields, it is a sight for sore eyes! As we leave the Reserve behind, we take a back road to head for Ma River’s valley, and Nhot village, which will become this day’s sleep over. There, you will have the chance to meet many Thai ethnic groups living in the extensive area of the valley.

After having breakfast, you’ll be relaxed a bit before taking another ride to Pu Luong Nature Reserve within a few hours. We then have to take a short boat trip then start a 2 to 3 hour walk through beautiful hill side villages, magnificent rice paddies, seeing hand crafted bamboo water wheels to approach where we’ll be staying tonight.
The highlight on this walk is experiencing the beauty of Pu Luong Nature Reserve, the everyday life and culture of the White Thai people. Become a part of local life when we are welcomed as honored guests at a traditional dinner and stay the night. Homestay at Ethnic Thai Tribe’s house.

This is our final day of our off road motorbike tours Vietnam. We will be heading back to Hanoi through an incredible ride, as we take the east side of the Hoa Binh River and head up north. We will go past the city of Son Tay, a must-see when in the Northland, and then take a break at Bavi, a town with a cheese-and-milk production factory that is worth seeing.
